Korean Beauty (K-Beauty) - Cushion Foundation: Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion Review

Hello all! I'm back with a K-Beauty review this time on one of my favorite cushion foundations.  If you are familiar with the Korean beauty trend, you are probably well aware of the on-going cushion foundation craze.  I have owned and tried many, many, many cushion foundations - from Iope, Missha, Innisfree, Laneige, Age21, Banilla Co., Ohui... you name it.

Among countless types of cushion foundations from many different brands - one of my absolute favorite cushion foundations is the Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion SPF 50+/PA+++.

Check out the Aritaum website (www.aritaum.com) for more in-depth information.

Unfortunately, you cannot purchase this cushion foundation from the Aritaum website if you live in the U.S. (shipping is unavailable), but below, I have linked a Korean cosmetics website where you can purchase it:
Also, I have checked my nearest Aritaum store to see if they carried the Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion, but sadly, they did not.

Now, here are the details, pictures and my opinions of the Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion!

Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion SPF 50+/PA+++

Product Details:
  • 3 shades available: 17 Light Beige, 21 Peach Beige and 23 Natural Beige
  • Has a powdery finish
  • Contains peach flower extract for moisturizing the skin
  • Comes with a cushion compact with mirror & two 15g foundations & two cushion applicators
  • Has a light floral & sunscreen scent that disappears on the face over time

I carry this around on a daily basis - as you can see the writing has rubbed off :/

My Opinions: I have combination skin - oily Tzone with severely dry cheeks and chin

PROS:
  • Definitely agree with the claim, "powdery finish"
  • Medium-Full coverage
  • Lasts about 4-5 hours without powder and touch ups
  • Touches up very well (can layer more foundation on top without cakey look/feel)
  • Shade 21 matches PERFECTLY on my skin (I'm about NC20 with a bit more neutral undertone in MAC)
  • Shade 21 is not too warm or not too cool unlike many Korean cushion foundations
  • Good for everyday use!
  • Does not oxidize on my skin
  • Floral/sunscreen scent does not linger
CONS:
  • May cling onto dry patches
  • May sink into larger pores over time
  • May look mask-like if you apply too much

I have swatched this cushion foundation for shade comparison with: Laneige BB Pore Control in shade 21, Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup in shade 1W1 Bone and Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in shade Ivory.

My skin tone leans warm/neutral.  I have a tan on my arms so the swatches may seem a little light for my skin, but I promise the Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion matches perfectly on my skin and blends into my neck.

I personally think the price tag on this product is pretty fair - one 15g compact lasts me about 2 months with everyday use.

Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion is a solid cushion foundation to try out if you have been curious about Korean cushion foundations - or even if you own many different Korean cushion foundations like myself.

I hope you liked my first Korean Beauty product - phew, a foundation has A LOT to cover!  And please check back for more beauty related reviews!
